What you walk away with
🤖

A live AI agent

Running locally on your Mac inside a UTM virtual machine

📱

Telegram connection

Text your agent from your phone — it responds and acts

Scheduled tasks

Set it to run things automatically — no babysitting required

🔓

Full control

No cloud lock-in. Runs on your machine. Your data stays yours.

OpenClaw — your AI agent runtime

OpenClaw is an open-source AI agent that runs on your own hardware. We'll get it running inside a UTM VM on your Mac and connected to the outside world.

📋 Session format

  • 5 people max (everyone gets help)
  • Live screen share + Zoom
  • Q&A the whole way through
  • Recording sent to all attendees
  • 15-min open Q&A after

💻 What you need

  • Mac only — Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) or Intel, macOS 12+
  • 16GB RAM minimum (8GB will struggle with a VM running alongside apps)
  • 20GB free disk space for the UTM virtual machine
  • Claude Pro or Codex subscription — needed to run the agent ($20/month, sign up at anthropic.com or openai.com before the session)
  • UTM installed (free — utm.app) — install before we start
  • A Telegram account (free)
  • 1 hour and curiosity — no coding experience needed

⚠️ Session 1 is Mac-only. If you're on Windows or Linux, sign up below and select your platform — I'll run a dedicated session when there's enough interest.

Travis Burmaster — your instructor

I've been building with AI agents daily for over a year — automating portfolio analysis, home network discovery, content creation, smart home control, and more. OpenClaw is my primary agent runtime. This isn't theory. This is my exact setup, condensed to 1 hour.

Questions

Do I need to know how to code?

No. If you can install an app and follow instructions, you can do this. We go step by step together.

Does this work on Windows or Linux?

Session 1 is Mac-only. UTM, the VM software we use, is a Mac app. If you're on Windows or Linux and want to join a future session, sign up below and select your platform — I'll run a dedicated session when there's enough interest. You won't be left out, just on the next round.

What are the Mac requirements?

Any Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or later) or an Intel processor, running macOS 12 or newer. We recommend at least 16GB of RAM — running a VM alongside your other apps on 8GB can be slow. You'll also need about 20GB of free disk space for the virtual machine image.

What's UTM?

A free, open-source virtual machine app for Mac. We use it to run a lightweight Linux environment where OpenClaw lives. Download it at utm.app before the session.

Do I need a Claude or Codex subscription?

Yes — you'll need an active Claude Pro ($20/month at anthropic.com) or OpenAI Codex subscription to power the agent. Sign up before the session so we're not waiting on account setup during the workshop. Both have free trials if you haven't tried them yet.

What AI model does it use?

Claude (Anthropic) by default. OpenClaw also supports Codex and other models. You choose which one powers your agent.

Will there be a recording?

Yes. All attendees get the recording after the session in case you need to revisit any step.

Is $29 really it?

Yes. No upsell. No follow-up course. No membership. Just the 1-hour session.

What if I get stuck after?

The OpenClaw Discord community is active and helpful. I'll also stay on after for 15 minutes for any last questions.
